Where can I get the code to block all web browsers from accessing my web site other than INTERNET EXPLORER?

Where can I get the code to block all web browsers from accessing my web site other than INTERNET EXPLORER.
I would like the page to say "browser is not supported"
please can someone help me. it will be gladly appreciated!

There is no such code to flat-out block access based on web browsers. It is also unethical to do so on one’s part.
Web pages need to respect certain open, web standards. Internet Explorer is just one of the many browsers and not even the best, I fail to see your reasoning for blocking it. If it’s because the website only renders correctly in Internet Explorer, then at most what I would do would put a message, warning visitors "best viewed in Internet Explorer".

Which web browsers are the most popular?

Posted on November 26th, 2009 by admin

I’m trying to get the most popular web browsers on my computer because I’m trying to become a web site publisher and I’m going to check if my web sites work on the most popular web browsers.

In my sources is a table listing statistics of browser usage.

If you were to cover Internet Explorer 6&7 and Firefox you would have approx 93% of the market covered. If you have time to go further I would also recommend Safari and Opera.

Definitely make sure it covers those 3 however. Version 6 of IE is very high still since a lot of people don’t like the changes made in 7 and stayed with the old one.

Does anybody know of Mp3 players that have built in web browsers and WiFi?

Posted on November 20th, 2009 by admin

I was looking for an iPod touch alternative, and I stumbled upon the Archos 605 WiFi, but that was too big, costly and hard drive based. I was looking for a flash based MP3 Player that has good WiFi battery life, and a built in web browser. Thank you!

well there is the iphone

Why are some letters underlined on the menu bars of web browsers?

Posted on November 17th, 2009 by admin

If you look up at "File", "Edit" "View", and stuff like that at the top of web browsers, or note pad and stuff, why are only 1 of the letters underlined in each of those words. The "f" in file is underlined, and the "i" in history is underlined. It been a question of mine for a really long time.

Those are the hot-key letters you use to operate the program without a mouse ie, using the keyboard only,,,,,example I use firefox browser and since the letter F is underlined on the file menu option, if I hold down the Alt key and press F at the same time it opens the file menu. If I Alt + E the Edit menu opens and so on……

Hope that helps :)

The user interfaces of web browsers are called "chrome". Is the name inspired by William Gibson books?

Posted on November 14th, 2009 by admin

Gibson(Neuromancer) uses the word "chrome" as an adjective to describe furniture, computers etc., One of his short story collections is ever called "Burning Chrome". Some say Gibson inspired the Internet and the Matrix Trilogy. Just wondering if the use of "chrome" to describe the user interface of Web browsers is a dedication to Gibson.

"Chrome" is usually used to mean something that looks pretty, without adding any functionality to a product. It’s an abbreviation for "chromium", which is a shiny metal used in plating. Its use in computer terms predates Gibson’s books.

What are these other web browsers ive heard of?

Posted on November 3rd, 2009 by admin

Well the only web browser ive even known adn used is internet explorer. Now i hear of firefox and some others. I know about safari ever since my lil brother got his itouch and also How did safari become my main web browser? I still use IE but whenever i click a link or something it uses safari? How do i change it bac?!?!

The default browser was changed. This commonly happens when installing a new browser: somewhere along the way it asked "Would you like to make [me] the default browser?". Since it’s one in a series of questions which the answer is "yes", it’s compelling to answer yes to this question too.

Or your brother agrees with most web developers that IE should never be used as a browser. IE has unique interpretations ("bugs") of html standards.
