Afer a System Recovery in Windows XP I think I will have to get a new internet connection as well as need a browser. (I am currently using IE8). How do I do these
things?
Hello,
I’m not quite sure I understand what you are asking, but it seems to me like you would like to know how you could get a new Internet connection and/or browser. If you would like a new Internet connection you would have to go to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and upgrade your speed if that’s what you need; but if you’re not happy with your current ISP then you will have to look for another company that provides Internet service and speak with them about what plans they have. Now, to get a new Internet browser you will need to go to http://www.google.com/ and from there you will need to type in what browser you would like. Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Google Chrome; those are just some examples of basic Internet browsers that people use these days. If that was not the answer that you were looking for, then please feel free to contact me for furthur information.

Running Windows 7 64bit Pro. I use Mozilla Firefox and have no issues, but sometimes I use IE8 32bit and it hangs and eventually crashes. Has anyone else who is running Win7 32/64 bit and running the 32bit browser experienced this problem? Is there a fix?
Yes, that’s why I use Firefox. IE8 32 bit crashes, and IE 64 bit isn’t compatible with Flash
can my administrator check my IE browser history if I’m not connected in the network and clean my browser before connecting again?
Most companies (even small ones) have some sort of keylogging program running in the background for all employee computers. That records everything you type, and in some cases all the websites you go to. You can’t see this, only the admin has the pw. Even if you are not connected to the internet, he/she can read this. So stop surfing porn at work!!
I am using fire fox 3. Video streaming is fast. Closing browser gives you an option to delete cookies, saved password, history, authenticated session, offline web data, and cache. Is Internet Explorer 8 much better?
It really depends on what you are looking for in a browser. Internet Explorer has been around for ages, and has the full support of Microsoft behind it. It is sleek and powerful, but on old(ish) computers that may slow you down a bit. Still, as the standard browser, you won’t find many other negatives with it.
Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/ie8/getitnow.mspx
Mozilla FireFox is a highly customizable browser. New themes and gadgets are released every week, and this gives a personal feel to it when viewing websites. Although it slows the computer down, it isn’t as bad as IE, though on a fast computer, you won’t notice much of a difference between the two.
FireFox 3.0.1: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
Other options available are Opera Browser. This browser offers very limited customization features (only a colour change in fact), but because of this gives very fast browsing. it doesn’t require as many resources as IE or FF, but it isn’t very fun to browse in something that looks as out-of-date as it does.
Opera 9.52: http://www.opera.com/download/
The final major browser is Apple Safari. In my opinion it is the fastest of the 4 browser and my personal favourite. Its style is based on the iTunes layout and it doesn’t offer any customizability, but if you like iTunes, you’ll love this browser. Its major downfall is the fact that it doesn’t render (load) webpages very well. This can become very irritating while browsing so most people don’t give it a second thought. It does run very fast (even on slow computers) and has the fastest startup time of all browsers. If you find that the pages you usually visit work fine on Safari, you won’t have anything bad to say about it.
Safari 3.1.2: http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/safari312forwindows.html
So it really depends on what kind of person you are and what type of computer you have. You can’t go wrong with IE or FF, but under stress, they perform slowly, Opera is a boring looking browser but can run where the other two can’t, and Safari has problems with many webpages, but is much the fastest of them all. I personally use all four of them (but IE and Safari are my main two). If Apple ever get the rendering process sorted, it would be my number 1 choice.
Hope that helps.
I am having trouble loading some pages, and need to know what the correct settings for my IE 8 browser.
Go to the Tools Tab…Internet Options….Advanced Tab and Reset Internet Explorer to Default……..
I tried the restricted sites dialog in Security under Tools menu in IE, but this just gave me the activex warning when I go to youtube. I want IE to completely keep me from getting through to the web site. How can I do this?
Edit your "hosts" file:
if on XP: c:\windows\system32\drivers\et c\hosts (no space between the t and c)
Add the line:
127.0.0.1 www.youtube.com
Save and close the file.
Try going to Youtube.
I had Firefox for a few days, but it’s inability to speedily download photos (because it lacks Active X) has me wanting to go back to Internet Explorer.
I can bring up IE for any individual site, but can’t seem to again make it my primary browser
To change IE into your default browser, you’ll have to:
(1) Launch IE
(2) Go to ‘Tools’ in your toolbar.
(3) Select ‘Internet Options’
(4) Under the ‘Programs’ tab, click the ‘Make Default’ tab to make IE your default browser.
Alternatively on XP,
(1) Click ‘Start’
(2) Click ‘Set Program Access & Defaults’
(3) Expand the ‘Custom’ category
(4) Check ‘Internet Explorer’ under ‘Choose a default web browser’
Keep the firefox browser though, surfing via firefox is much faster compared to IE =D
And what does it do?
It’s a file extension. much like .html or .php or .xhtml etc.
ASP stands for Active Server Pages and is the name of web publishing framework by Microsoft. Much the same thing as PHP or ColdFusion. It is used to automatically generate web page content on the server and then send the output to your browser.
The X probably indicates that aspx is a new version of the old asp technology. ASPX uses microsoft’s .NET technology.
On the old browser one could just look and see if the MS logo in the
upper left corner was waving to see if the browser was "working"
Try looking at a tab, there should be a little rotating circle thing.
Don’t we all just love how Micrapsoft "revamps" things?!
Use Firefox! If you do, get the NoScript add-on as well. Go to Tools>Add-ons, and when it opens, search for NoScript. When it shows results, click Add to Firefox.
What NoScript does, is stops scripts from automatically running, protecting you. There are 2 options you can use, to always allow a webpage to show all of it’s content, or to temporarily allow.
If you use FF instead, then do enjoy!
