Open both applications, right click on an open space in the taskbar, click "Tile Windows Vertically".

Same way you put any two windows on the screen at once. Start two separate instances of IE7. Right click the task bar and select "Tile windows vertically". Done. Enjoy your huge monitor my friend.

If you have Vista you right click on your task bar to bring up menu for that feature. Wxp, I think you do same way but it says horizontal or vertical and you can use mouse cursor to re-size or move them.
