How do you change Opera to your default browser when opening MSN mail?

Posted on December 24th, 2009 by admin

Most of the ways to change your default browser I have found online only apply to Opera earlier then 9.0. Any tips for after that?

I just want to be able to click on the mail button and view my mail automatically in Opera, not Internet Explorer. My IE is extremely slow on this computer.

you have to download accessories for msn messenger. such as messenger plus and there is another app for changing default browser

If you have Vista, then you can go into your Control Panel and open Internet Options. Click on the ‘Programs’ tab and then press the Set Programs button (under ‘Internet programs’). Next, select the ‘Select your default programs’ option (should be the first option). When the ‘Set Default Programs’ screen is loaded with all your programs, find ‘Opera’ in the list and click on it. There should be an option saying "Set this program as default". This should make Opera your default browser for everything it can be default for.

If you don’t have Vista then I’m afraid I can’t help. I know I figured out how to do it quite easily on XP, so if that’s what you have then just do a bit of playing about with it and you should get there eventually. If you’ve got anything else, however, then I really have no clue.

    Hope that’s of help.

    My guess is..
    Set Program Access and Defaults.

You can’t do that- open up opera and then open up to the hotmail page. The button on MSN will redirect to IE no matter what because they’re both windows products.
