How do I set my browser to accept cookies?
Posted on January 15th, 2010 by admin
I am a 70 year old computer novice. I understand very little about my computer and have taught myself everthing I know about it (which isn’t very much).. I have an Acer Aspire 3002 ACi about 5 years old, running Windows XP. Can someone please tell me (in terms and steps that I can understand) how to set my browser to accept cookies?
Simply click on "Tools" in the toolbar and select "Options." This will open the Internet Options window.
Click on the tab labeled "Privacy." You should then see a slider bar, along with options on what setting to place the slider on.
If your bar is set to "Block all Cookies," "High" and even sometimes "Medium High," your computer will not allow cookies to be added to your system. You can also choose "Low" or "Accept All Cookies," which will allow cookies to be added to your system without having to manually allow them to be added.
Once you have selected the appropriate setting for your zone, click "Apply" to save and then click "Ok" to close the window.

You should verify your browser.
For Firefox-
Tools>options>privacy >accept cookies from sites.
For I Explorer-
Tools>Internet Properties>Privacy Tab >Medium Level.

Looks like you’ve gotten some correct answers, but here’s some sites to bookmark for future reference:
The fact that you told us the make/model of your PC & what OS (operating system) you’re using already makes you brighter than a lot of the other peeps asking for help here!
For internet questions or problems, be sure to state what browser you’re using & who your internet provider is.
Good luck!
